Progressive leader tweets another jab at true Christians

John Pavlovitz continues his onward campaign to make opposition to the sin of homosexuality look evil.
We all know that this gross sin is abominable in the eyes of God (Lev. 18:22, Matt. 19:4-6; Rom. 1:26-27, I Cor. 6:9, I Tim. 1:10, Rev. 21:8), at least those of us who have not compromised on His truth.
Pavlovitz continues on his rampage to discredit what God’s Word says about homosexuality and he does it with a hostile flair of anger. As stated in a previous article, he carries the mentality of a “raging bull.”
This past Saturday night, in his latest tweet to discredit scripture as well as Bible-believing Christians who remain standing against this sin, it seems as if Pavlovitz is either practicing how to argue with someone disputing his claims that being gay is not a sin, or giving illustration to his followers how to employ such a tactic. Perhaps, it’s both.
What he does is create arguments against the true Christian who uses scripture references in Leviticus, Romans and I Timothy.
The tweet received nearly 37,000 likes, over 1,000 responses and 8,000 retweets.
Here are a few things to keep in mind. Pavlovitz has denied the inerrancy of scripture. He has also said that people who use Bible verses to back up their points are irresponsible. Now how ludicrous is that? It’s disrespectful to the believer, the Word and God himself.
The tweet led to backlash from solid evangelicals.

It has also been shared on facebook pages that involve the discernment of Progressive Christianity.
Anyway, let’s dig into his imaginary conversation.
Me (Pavlovitz): Jesus never says being LGBTQ is a sin.
Yes He does. Jesus says that clear in Matthew 19:4-6, which states:
4 And He answered and said, “Have you not read that He who created them from the beginning made them male and female, 5 and said, ‘For this reason a man shall leave his father and mother and be joined to his wife, and the two shall become one flesh’? 6 So they are no longer two, but one flesh. What therefore God has joined together, let no man separate.”
(NASB)
In this case, Jesus replied to the Pharisees’ question about divorce, another sin that lingers in our culture today. It is also a topic for another time.
But Christ’s answer to that question in this passage indicates that God made people male and female and that marriage is between one man and one woman. Not two men and not two women. However, many LGBTQ people and their allies take this passage for what it says at face value and nothing more. They deny it indicates opposition to homosexuality, which would explain why they say “Jesus never said anything in the Bible about homosexuality,” and use it to justify the idea that “being gay is not a sin.” On the contrary, He did say, and it is, and we know better than to accept such ideas.
Them: But Leviticus.
The “Them” Pavlovitz is addressing is the Bible-believing Christian in which he is engaging with in his imaginary argument.
The passage in the Book of Leviticus would be chapter 18, verse 22, which states:
“You shall not lie with a male as one lies with a female; it is an abomination.” (NASB)
That right there makes it clear that God commands us not to engage in homosexuality, or be LGBTQ, or approve of those engaged in it (Rom. 1:32).
Me: Not Jesus.
Uhmmm…..Yes, Jesus. Another cause for the “Jesus never says being LGBTQ is a sin,” argument is because most progressives, which Pavlovitz is, line up with the Red-Letter Christian way of thinking, in which only the Words of Christ are taken seriously, not the rest. They use the excuse that it was written by man to justify they can do what they wish. What they don’t realize, or deny, God used flawed man to write His Word. The “Jesus” Pavlovitz is referring to is the progressive liberal Jesus.
Them: But Romans
The verses in Romans the imaginary opponent of Pavlovitz would use are 26 and 27, which states:
26 For this reason God gave them over to degrading passions; for their women exchanged the natural function for that which is unnatural, 27 and in the same way also the men abandoned the natural function of the woman and burned in their desire toward one another, men with men committing indecent acts and receiving in their own persons the due penalty of their error.
This clearly points specifically about homosexuality. As it says at the start of verse 26, God gives them over to their passions. That is evident in our nation as the LGTBQ movement continues to pick up strength.
Me: Not Jesus.
No. Not your Jesus, John. The Jesus you’re proclaiming is the one you’ve created or bought into by your progressive peers. He doesn’t exist. But the real Jesus, the one of the Bible, which you deny, does say it. The apostle Paul, a flawed man like the rest of us, may have written it. But it was the true Jesus who commissioned him to write it.
Little does Pavlovitz and his ilk realize, their denial of this passage just reflects the actions they are involved with today. The homosexual revolution is evidence of that.
Them: But I Timothy
This is in reference to I Tim. 1:8-11, which states:
8 But we know that the Law is good, if one uses it lawfully, 9 realizing the fact that law is not made for a righteous person, but for those who are lawless and rebellious, for the ungodly and sinners, for the unholy and profane, for those who kill their fathers or mothers, for murderers 10 and immoral men and homosexuals and kidnappers and liars and perjurers, and whatever else is contrary to sound teaching, 11 according to the glorious gospel of the blessed God, with which I have been entrusted.”
This passage points out to how we as Christians recognize God’s Law and refrain from committing the sinful acts being mentioned, and that it exists to curtail those who are violating it.
The 10th verse mentions homosexuals as being among groups of people living with sinful behavior.
Me: *sigh* Jesus is never going to hate people the way you want him to hate people. That’s going to be a “you” problem.
The imaginary manufactured conversation then comes to a close. Pavlovitz turns the righteous believer on their head. This is a common tactic used by progressive and LGBTQ “Christians,” or even secular non-believers. It is blasphemous and disrespectful to God’s Word.
In his closing comment, Pavlovitz opens up with the “sigh,” indicating the disgust of his failure to convince the true believer to come into agreement with him. He follows up portraying Christ as a person who loves everybody and let’s them live as they please. Sounds like a Universal type Christ, does it not? It also falsely convicts and brings shame to the rebuker. Unfortunately, this tactic has been successful in silencing many Christians who are new to their walk and/or are not strongly grounded in the Word. It has also caused some to cave in to the LGBTQ agenda and accept homosexuality as normal. These are the “Christians” who call out true believers for not being “loving'' when they call out the sin, while manipulating biblical phrases such as “Don’t Judge” and “Love Thy Neighbor.”
This is a major cause to why we now have churches and denominations caving into the agenda and buying into the lie that “God made them that way.” It has also weakened the church, causing the battle for remnant believers to be more difficult.
Also, notice how Pavlovitz is likely cutting off the believer before he or she can give out the chapter and verse. It’s obvious he knows what’s coming and doesn’t want to hear it.
The Bible also gives more scriptures speaking out against homosexuality in I Cor. 6:9-11 and Rev. 21:8.
Pavlovitz is clearly a man who has love and compassion for LGBTQ people, which we all should. But where he goes wrong is affirming and encouraging them in their sin (Rom. 1:32). We are to use that love and compassion, which progressives hijack, and channel it into warning and correcting the sinner in a loving and caring manner. True love can be scolding when correction is involved and progressives wrongly identify it as hate.
Pavlovitz is a false teacher who is deceiving a large following with his ideas. He is someone who wants Jesus but still wants sin and is tickling the itching ears of false converts and baby Christians. But realistically, he hates the real Jesus and His Word and it shows up in his hostility toward true believers. This man is to be marked and avoided.
