From social justice mantras to gun control. Those subjects were literally the focus of another mass shooting that took place March 22 when a gunman went into a grocery store in Boulder, Colo., and allegedly shot and killed 10 people.
It was the second mass shooting to happen in less than a week. The other took place six days earlier in Atlanta.
When reports first broke out, local television cameras showed a shirtless man in handcuffs with a bloody leg being escorted by police officers. Although no reports had yet confirmed if that was the shooter, it was obvious. After all, there were reports of the suspect being shot by police and in custody.
With the gunman, who will not be named, appearing to have light skin, progressive authors and journalists immediately took to social media, making assumptions the culprit was white.
Well, he did look like it.
But when more information came out, it was discovered he was a Muslim Syrian immigrant. Some of those progressives retracted their comments, but no apologies were made for their misjudgments. You can see info on it here at 15:00, 20:56 and 21:30.
No, he didn’t do it as an allegiance to any radical Jihad terrorist group. This was a case of someone who was mentally deranged, was an anti-Trumper and anti-Islamophobia. An article appearing in the Denver Post had his high school classmates talk about how he would easily get angry.
All 10 of his victims, including a police officer, were white.
As many recall, the Atlanta shooter was white and most of his victims were of Asian descent. The focus in the aftermath was about stopping hate of Asians, although no proof of racism has been found. Because the culprit in that case confessed to being a sex addict and even claimed to be Christian, the subjects of misogyny and “Christian Nationalism” were also brought up. Guns were not an issue.
But with the Boulder, Colo. incident, once it was learned that it was a Muslim man taking the lives of 10 white people, the focus shifted quickly from race to firearms.
A meeting took place in the U.S. Senate the next day renewing calls for gun control.
President Biden is now urging the senate to pass more gun control legislation, like HB 8 and HB 1446, which were passed by the U.S. House on March 11.
These gun bills contain policies ranging from purchasing insurance, banning private sales or exchanges between friends, banning magazines that can hold more than 10 rounds and other ridiculous demands that are enormous, making it hard for normal citizens to buy a firearm.
The president, who has only been in office for over two months, is demanding assault weapons, likely AR-15s, being banned and is using it with a tone of vigor in his voice. There are even reports that he is pushing for the supreme court to allow police to go into people’s homes without a search warrant and take their guns. This is unconstitutional and unamerican as it violates the second amendment. It is also a form of tyranny.
Biden is showing why Americans who did not vote for him did not want him in office and demanded a challenge to the results. Gun Control is one of them. Others involve lawlessness in major cities, defunding the police and illegal border crossing -- reasons why gun owners oppose gun control.
This same man, from the same party, the democrats, who wants to take our guns also wants to defund the police, let illegal aliens come in from the southern border and run loose, supports the criminal activity of Black Lives Matter and denies that of Antifa. Imagine that scary combination. Tragically, it’s shaping to be a reality.
The mindset of Biden, his administration and his supporters is clear in their reactions to mass shootings.
First they look at the race, gender and the sexual orientation of both the suspect and the victims involved. If the shooter is white and the victims are of a different ethnic minority, female, LGBTQ, there are cries for social justice. But if the shooter is Muslim or another ethnic group and the victims are white, then the focus turns to gun control. Why is that?
It’s an agenda and not a good one. What is also sad, as people rush to hasty judgements, the victims are not being mourned enough.
